Abstract

This research will discuss some of the ways in which environmental issues transformed the bureaucratic field in São Paulo. Based on the Dapartamento de Águas e Energia Elétrica do Estado de São Paulo (DAEE), the principal responsible for the state management of water resources until the remodeling of the system manager, the main objective is to interpret the changes in the bureaucratic field of water management in São Paulo during the implementation of the new decentralized and participatory governance of the resource.
