Abstract

The diversity of chemicals that are currently present in the lives of human beings is an obstacle to health surveillance and needs to be controlled to reduce the risk of environmental contamination. Antimicrobials and are used as pharmaceuticals, are also used as growth promoter source of agricultural production, especially in cattle, pigs, poultry production in and are used as a complement to food fish in aquaculture. The uncontrolled use and improper disposal of these substances are made because most people are unaware of the problems of bioaccumulation, bioconcentration and biomagnification of chemical products and their effects on the environment. Ecotoxicological studies can recognize and quantify the deleterious effects of sulfadiazine to the environment and the test organisms. The objective of this project is to evaluate the ability of bioconcentration and clearance of sulfadiazine in antimicrobial test organism Danio rerio and show that the improper disposal of drugs interferes with the environment.
