Abstract

As studied by Malthus the trend of population growth is much greater than the power production of food. Thus, population growth and resource scarcity, the study of substances that will facilitate the growth of plants, from the hormonal balance of the same, is of great importance, especially when associated with agriculture and improving the productivity of a planting. It is known that the agricultural production systems employ large numbers of compounds for applications in agriculture to increase the quantity and quality of products. The Brazil has become one of the largest consumers of these compounds in the world and, although it has an important role in agricultural productivity, these compounds are present in alarming amounts in surface water bodies and groundwater. Despite its important role in agricultural productivity through minimizing pest activity and stimulate the growth of plants, they can create serious environmental impacts. In this context, different mechanisms are being studied in order to minimize these problems, for example, the development of sustained release systems using nanoparticles, which allows an increase in performance / efficiency of bioactive compounds. Therefore, this project aims at the development of new delivery systems for growth hormone gibberellic acid, in order to minimize the impacts of this on the environment, increasing the efficiency of increased plant growth and fruit in order to reduce process degradation of these physico-chemical environment and improve the action on target organisms. The importance of this project lies in the dimension of market bioactive compounds used in agriculture in the Brazilian economy and the world. Thus, the area of nanotechnology has potential in research and development of new technologies less impacting to the environment and therefore to society.
