Abstract

The technological advance linked to consumption, population growth and competitiveness, ensures the rapid increase in industrial production scale and consequently, intense and direct generation of negative impacts on the environment. These impacts may be related to the life cycle of a product, from extraction of raw materials, processes involved, consumption and their respective disposal.The interest of the population about sustainability drives governments to require greater responsibilities, leading to the concern about the business management, which tends to search new tools to minimize the impacts caused by the production processes. This scenario has encouraged new researches with a focus on "greener" production processes Sustainable Production, and these efforts have begun to aggregate benefits to the environmental, economic and social area. The use of certain tools related to the environmental management, such as the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), used in many fields who seek the path: "Friendly Environment". This current project includes the study and the feasibility of applying LCA methodology to the recycling of electronic products. The study involves the implementation and the optimization of a collection point of electronic waste (REE) inside the Federal University of São Carlos - campus of Sorocaba, data collection regarding the recycling of electronic products and mapping of the production process from the collection and the sorting until the final product reaching.
