Abstract

The aim of the plan of activities is studying cementitious matrices eco-efficient using agro-industrial residues (vegetable fiber and ashes). Such residues are an interesting option to obtain a eco-friendly fiber-cement. However to understand the complex mechanisms that occur in Portland cement pastes with agro-industrial residues as well as type of cure process in this project will be study step by step following approaches: Portland Cements, Portland cements and ashes, Portland cements and vegetable fiber and their interactions. These approaches involve a physical-mechanical and microstructural characterization to establishment a scientific and technical knowledge to produce a sustainable fiber-cement. The microstructural and physical-mechanical properties of Portland cement paste and fiber-cement will be analyzed by means of X Ray Diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electronic Microscopy (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) aided by EDX (energy dispersive x-ray detector), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TA), Infra Red spectroscopy (IR), Zeta Potential (ZP), among others techniques. This study will be useful to understand better the kinetics of the hydration reactions in the Portland cement paste with agro-industrial wastes. (AU)
