Abstract

Pragmatic is a perspective that involves several communication skills and it depends on, among other factors, the context to which the individual belongs. Assessment based on this aspect has been used as a tool to obtain meaningful information to characterize different types of language disorders. Currently, the tests used in Brazil are ABFW - Test of children-s language (Andrade et al, 2000), Behavioral Observation Protocol (Hage & Zorzi, 2004), and proposed assessment of Lopes-Herrera (2009). The Test of Pragmatic Skills (Shulman, 1986) is an easy application test, composed of four evaluative tasks that use simple and common materials to children, and its main objective is to verify the intent of conversational children. Noting the importance of internationally recognized instruments applicable in Brazil both in clinical and research, the aim of this study is to apply the translated version of the TOPS-R, as authorized by the author.
