Abstract

Shadows are present in most regions of the images . Currently , with the increase in spatial resolution sensor systems incorporated into their occurrence has been frequent and considered as a major obstacle in many applications . In addition to causing change in the spectral response of the targets , they degrade the visual quality of the images and omit important information in information extraction , making the accurate mapping of the earth's surface. Thus , this project aims to develop a methodology to remove the effects of the shadows of the images . For such, these regions will be identified based on spectral features that provide models of color combined with the morphological process of images , and then reconstructed by means of the key techniques of radiometric compensation. Still , the simulation of a ground truth to verify compensation of these areas will be proposed , since no literature as a way to evaluate these results and therefore no consensus on the most appropriate method. The interest is to recover the obscured and texture information, with the advantage of not being limited to external factors , such as the use of information of three-dimensional models . The automation of the method still allows it to be employed as a preprocessing step for other applications within the digital image processing and computer vision .
