Abstract

The objective of the project is to know the uses of proof of different levels of math education. For that it will use as base documentary some textbooks of the final years of elementary school and high school students, evaluated and approved by the National Textbook Program (PNLD) in 2008, 2011 and 2012, the National Curricular Parameters and the PNLD guides from the years and levels of education previously cited. It is intended to discuss the specifics of school and academic mathematics as regards proof; map proposals in textbooks to proof at different levels of mathematics teaching; identify what are the guidelines for the proof of the PCN and the PNLD guides, both from the final years of elementary school and high school students, have been included in textbooks; identify the purpose of the proof is indicated. The aim is to enlarge the understanding of the proof theme, investigating the meaning of this resource in the field of mathematics education. The type research is qualitative, type in that documentary research and use content analysis as a methodology of analysis it will used.
