Abstract

This research aims to identify, describe and examine some aspects of political education in Brazil, more specifically, the representations that the professional consultants political marketing, also known as marketers, elaborate about cultures and national symbologies. The purpose is to analyze the readings that are about Brazil and media strategies used by them to represent the country and its people. Interests within the sociology of education, protruding partially understand the mechanisms of socialization and training culture in the contemporary context, as well as the means by which these professionals build, within the policy, ways of being, thinking and acting. It is understood that these consultants can be defined as agents that occupy a privileged place in national democracy and seeking to influence cultural perceptions that are not just about politics, but also in relation to the nation. The starting point is therefore the hypothesis that these professionals act as administrators of accumulated information through a diffuse educational action and socializing the population relative to the provisions of habitus in its political dimension. This is a multi-sited ethnography, exploratory, innovative and unprecedented nature by investigating the consultants in connection with the production of a campaign and from his reflections on the media they produce about Brazil and elsewhere. It is noteworthy that there are few ethnographic studies and no study of political marketing in education. Therefore, it is expected that this research will contribute to a greater and better understanding of the social construction of reality in the present day and on ways to synthesize the culture and their possible influences on ways of being, classify, judge and act the population. Finally, we hope to contribute to the expansion of the investigative scope of sociology of education in relation to diffuse educational processes, especially those that directly influence the future of the country and are not restricted to school.
