Abstract

This research project aims to understand the way school assemblies can be organized and developed institutionally in Elementary Education, in order to understand the implications of its implementation with respect to the construction of a democratic school. To this end, a case study will be performed on Maria Peregrina School, located in São José do Rio Preto - SP, Brazil. Based on the specialized literature of the subject and on the insertion of the researcher in the school routine we propose to discuss how the assemblies happen and which are the perceptions and purposes of teachers and management about the process.
