Abstract

The representation of space is given by different languages, daily life is full of symbols, texts, images and sounds. However, it is not always possible to read these representations, because sometimes go unnoticed, either because they do not give enough importance to them. Music is one of those cultural events that both says. This research project aims to understand the relationship between geography and music, taking this as a language (human expression) and source representations (reading comprehension) of space. Chose to analyze school and non-school spaces in the city of Rio Claro, in order to understand how it is currently the use of music in these spaces. The research will be structured in 6 steps, through, for example, the literature survey of the subject, participant, production of teaching materials and continuing education. It is believed that the practices that make use of musical language can become multipliers individuals, assuming to themselves the notion of agent producer and consumer culture. However, this research is not only about teaching Geography, because the aim is not to lead the world to school, but the reverse way: to show that knowledge is in life and that is key, read the world in their various languages and symbolic representations.
