Abstract

Gingistat ® is a equine collagen of type I in the form of compresses that has hemostatic activity due to its adhesion, absorption of liquids and gelation property , assisting in blood clot formation . The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ossification process of bone substitute Gingistat ® as well as the placement of titanium implants inserted in the same surgical procedure guided bone regeneration lifting the maxillary sinus floor through tomographic, histomorphometric and immunohistochemistry analyzes. Will be used for such twelve (12) New Zealand rabbits , " Albinus" variation, adult, male, five (5) months approximately and weighing between 3-4 kg undergoing surgery elevation of the membrane maxillary sinus bilateral by nasal approach. The maxillary sinus on the right side will be filled by Gingistat ® and the left side by a blood clot, then bilateral immediate installation of titanium dental implant of 3.6 x 6.5 mm. The animals will be euthanized after of 7 and 40 days and jaw removed for processing and tomographic, histomorphometric and immunohistochemical analyzes . Statistical analysis will be conducted through the comparison between control and treated group. The statistical test to be employed will depend on the distribution of these data in relation to the normal curve.
