Abstract

This project research internship abroad (BEPE) is part of the master's project: "Public Programs and Projects for Social Housing in Historic Centres of Consolidated Cities: São Paulo (Brazil) and Rome (Italy)", process FAPESP nº 2014/00299-9. The stage to be held in Rome/Italy aims: study and evaluate the economic, social, urban viability, the sustainability, the degree of preservation and the quality of housing of the "Programmi di Riqualificazione Urbana" (PRIU), through the case study Viale XXI Aprile Building in Rome. Methodology: To analyze the social, economic, and urban viability and the sustainability, will be analyzed the number of members, age groups and monthly income per household, type of housing and the value of the instalments, collective facilities located in the vicinity of the building, green areas and sustainable materials used in the rehabilitation of the building. Housing quality will be evaluated by the following indicators: m² / housing m²/user, number of users/bedroom, environmental comfort, safety and accessibility. Questionnaires will be applied, interviews with managers of PRIU Program and with the architects responsible for the rehabilitation project of the Building, technical visit to the locus in building and consultation about the building and the PRIU, at the City Hall. Results: i) prepare the third stage of the research masters; ii) literature review about the social housing and intervention methods in historical centers; iii) improve the methodology about the variables corresponding to the quality of housing analysis values.
