Abstract

It is intended in this project synthesize unprecedented molecules containing the nitrone functional group, a group that has a great ability to trap radical species. After the synthetic step, the molecules will be subjected to in vitro tests for determine their antioxidant activity. As the effect of physiological and pharmacological compounds containing nitrones is not yet fully established, the molecules proposed in this project will be compared with nitrones and antioxidants of reference in order to understand its structure/ antioxidant activity.
