Abstract

Objectives: to estimate vaccination coverage at 12 and 24 months in children born in 2012 in the city of Araraquara, to investigate factors associated with incomplete vaccination and to analyze post-vaccination adverse events. Methods: a cross-sectional study with a descriptive and an analytical component will be conducted. The study population will comprise the cohort of children born in 2012 in the city of Araraquara (SP) and registered in the Information System on Live Births (SINASC). Data sources will be the SINASC, the computerized immunization registry of Araraquara, the post-vaccination events notification form, the form of research and the SEADE foundation. The study variables include vaccination data and characteristics of the child, the mother, the environment and the health services. Vaccine coverage with confidence intervals of 95% will be estimated. The coverage will also be analyzed according to the census tracts of households, classified into groups according to the Paulista Social Vulnerability Index. The incomplete immunization schedule will be the dependent variable for the investigation of the factors associated with vaccination adherence. The crude and adjusted odds ratio will be estimated by unconditional logistic regression and statistical significance of the variables in the models will be evaluated by the likelihood ratio test. Expected Results: to verify if the vaccinations coverages meet the goals of the National Immunization Program, if there is homogeneity in the vaccination coverage, what are the adverse events and to identify possible factors associated with incomplete vaccination.
