Abstract

Offered in the Campus of Presidente Prudente, Rio Claro and Ourinhos, the course of Geography of Universidade Estadual Paulista can be found in the terms Licenciatura and Bacharelado during morning, daytime, full (Campus Rio Claro) and nighttime periods with classes of 40 to 45 students. The geographer has a mission to understand the elements and the process of production of the geographical space, whether urban or rural, under an integrated perspective of economic, political, social, cultural, nature, etc. Nowadays, it is understood that during the beginners known, students in Geography must turn to interdisciplinary questions, which somehow affect the duality relationship man/ nature. In this regard, education in soils, a component of environmental education can be understood as an integrating theme, be the result of natural processes and factors, and anthropogenic contemporaneously undergoing profound changes. Furthermore, since not as natural soil resource is paramount for the development of macro and microorganisms, among them, those who feed the majority of the human population, which alone would justify its importance. Show us that inappropriate land use results in impairment of their chemical, physical and mineralogical potential, in erosion, compaction, and pronounced acidity, among others. So, it is understood that the spread of the use practices and soil conservation appears as a primary task for students of Geography at all levels of studies. Therefore, we propose a detailed study of the structure of the course curriculum of Geography of the three Campus of UNESP, with regard to the discipline of Pedology, show that peculiarities in the formation of Licenciatura and Bacharelado highlighting its peculiarities in the formation of bachelor's degree and, quantifying and qualifying through questionnaires and interviews with those responsible for the discipline, students of ingress and egress, and population served can put university extension projects and scientific research.
