Abstract

Given the importance of the natural resource water for humanity and the growing degradation suffered by the water, this research project aims to identify and analyze the types of land cover and land use in the watershed of the stream in the city of Cascavel Matão- SP and through the results meet subsidies aimed at proposing policies for conservation and appropriate management of water resources at the level of river basins. For this, land uses will be mapped using remote product sensing and GIS techniques. For training database, will also be produced thematic maps of the study area, such as drainage, APP, and hypsometric slopes. This set of maps will be used to identify how the land is being used in the area and the interference of inappropriate land uses on water resources of the watershed. In this analysis, it is important to highlight the situation assessment of Permanent Preservation Areas (APP) in the study area.
