Abstract In this research project, the main objective is to investigate the prosodization clues of prepositional clitics from the unconventional written of them in boundary’s word. The hypothesis underlying this research is that the junction, in writing, of clitics to the adjacent word (ie hipossegmentation: "denovo"[again]) and the separation, in writing, of unstressed syllables as possible clitics (ie hypersegmentation "de vagar"[slowly]) reveal a not dichotomous relationship between speech and writing (Corrêa, 2004). Therefore, these spellings constitute relevant data to the studies of the prosodic status of clitics. The theoretical question of this project is to formalize the prosodization of clitics, since there is no consensus in the phonological literature on which constituent of the prosodic hierarchy clitics are incorporated to. In this scenario, it is questioned especially if clitic and its host form a prosodic constituent, the clitic group (NESPOR AND VOGEL, 1986), or if clitic is attached to prosodic word or to phonological phrase (SELKIRK, 1984). To acquire the aim point, we seek to develop a description of conventional and unconventional written of clitics looking for clues of prosodization by the relation between both written records of prosodic clitics. The data to be analyzed are extracted from written texts of the Elementary School, which belong to Banco de Dados de Escrita do Ensino Fundamental II (IBILCE/UNESP). The expected contributions of this research are to find evidence to formalize the prosodic status of clitic elements of Portuguese. (AU) | |
