Abstract

The aim of this study is to compare the quality of the hybrid layer in terms of thickness from the adhesive systems, Single Bond Universal and Adper Scotchbond Multi-Purpose over 6 months. Confocal microscopy will be used to verify the quality of the adhesive interface and the presence of gaps in 30 healthy molar teeth indicated for extraction. The rhodamine B, will be dissolved on the adhesive systems in a concentration (mg/mL) determined by pilots studies and confirmed through microtensile tests and confocal microscopy findings. This study will be performed in 20 healthy molar teeth indicated for extraction. The thickness and quality of the adhesive interface will be evaluated by scanning electron microscopy in 30 healthy molar teeth indicated for extraction. The results of bond strength, obtained through microtensile tests will be correlated with analysis of variance (ANOVA) one criteria. The scanning electron microscopy results will be analyzed by t-test, if there is adherence to the normal curve. If not, it will be used the Mann Whitney test. The significance level adopted will be 5%. The specimens will be assessed by 24 hours and 6 months periods.
