Abstract

The realization of strenuous acute physical exercise induces physiological and biochemical responses with several powerful immunosuppressant. Probiotic supplementation is an attempt to mitigate the effects of exercise on the innate immune system. Therefore the objective of this study is to verify the effects of probiotics supplementation on monocytes function after acute strenuous exercise of long duration. For that 10 participants will be supplemented during 30 days of probiotics (2.0 g/day), and 10 participants will be supplemented during 30 days of placebo (2.o g/day) subsequently submitted to a marathon 42.190m. Thirty days before, 24 hours before, immediately after the exercise session and after 01 hour of recovery, will be collected 30 ml of blood for determination of the cellular function of monocytes and dosages of plasma cytokines, hormones and glutamine. The descriptive analysis of the data will be performed by mean ± standard error. The normality of the data will be verified by the test of Shapiro-Wilk's, from the normal distribution of the data will be given the appropriate hypothesis test according to the experimental design of the study and significance level adopted will be p d 5%.
