Abstract

Currently, among the emerging diseases zoonoses are the most, and bats play an important role as a source of infection or transmission of infectious agents. Histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis and paracoccidioidomycosis are reported fungal diseases in several animal species, their agents can be isolated from grottos, caves, soil and animal feces. Therefore, the objective of this study is to perform molecular detection of fungi Histoplasma capsulatum, Cryptococcus neoformans and Paracoccidioidis brasiliensis in bats the from Botucatu region and in the state of São Paulo. Lung and liver bats will be collected during the period of 12 months for the research and diagnosis of H. capsulatum, C. neoformans and P. brasiliensis using the techniques of molecular diagnostics: Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Nested-PCR. Georeferencing of samples with the aid of Arcgis 10.1® software to generate maps of the distribution of points of gathering the animals will be held. The study design is a series of cases, by analyzing the frequency of the collected species, animal habits and found location. Statistical analysis will be performed through the distribution and frequency of features of interest cases such as species, feeding habits of bats and found location. Then subjected to analysis with PROC FREC procedure (SAS Institute, 2011). (AU)
