Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the completeness and quality of data in TBWEB of reported cases of TB and treatment in Ribeirão Preto - SP from 2009 to 2012. Epidemiological study, exploratory with quantitative approach. It was used as a methodological framework the "Guidelines for Evaluating Public Health Surveillance Systems" as well as previous studies on the subject. The blank data as those recorded as unknown/ without information will be considered as no-completeness. It will make indicators for each variable in accordance with the SINAN which the no-completeness will regarded as excellent (less than 5%), good (5 to 10%), regular (10 to 20%), poor (20 to 50%) and very poor (50% or more). Later, it will be assigned a grade according to the classification, which added together and divided by the number of years of observation, will result in an overall index for the period studied. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques through Statistica, version 10.0 software from Statsoft. The project was approved by the Municipal Health of and by the Ethics Committee in Research of the School of Nursing of Ribeirão Preto - USP, as CAAE 15671713.9.1001.5393 protocol, meeting the recommendations contained in Resolution No. 466/12. Through this study, we intend to offer support for the process of organization and management of the TB control program, based on the evaluation of the quality of information and local surveillance systems, identifying strengths and weaknesses in order to propose a reflection on strategies to combat the disease.
