Abstract

The research herein described, under the FAPESP funding process number 2013/19556-9, is in the scope of "Images, Geographies and Education Network" and focuses on a set of pictures and videos by photographers and video artists who chose the city of São Paulo as an esthetic theme and issue. The internship proposal that follows has the purpose of enhancing the debate that has taken place throughout the doctorate degree project, focusing on this set of images, from which we suggest thinking of how the image of the city becomes the centrality in the construction of its spatiality. Thinking the image as a mean of composing the space concept signifies, according to our perspective, pointing that the space cannot be understood as fixed and immutable and that, therefore, each photograph or video is an opening towards the space and the concept of a city. Such photographic images are targeted at the city of São Paulo and, even if they were summed, they would not allow us to compose a totalizing/totalizer image of the city. Each image opens other spaces and other possible cities. That also means demonstrating that what is visible is possible to be thought, and that art proposes other ways of seeing or trans seeing the world. Thus, the following internship proposal aims to continue the schedule proposed in the doctorate degree project, and aims the conceptual drafting and debate with the pictures and videos. In the model of the concept of "workbench" presented by Didi-Huberman, we suggest thinking the concepts of landscape, space and image through the pictures. (AU)
