Abstract

In recent research, supplementation of beta-alanine has shown results of significant improvements in performance of anaerobic capacity in some sporting events. However littles is known about supplementation effects with beta-alanine in team sports, thus this project is intended to investigate the effect of four weeks supplementation with beta-alanine about performance and anaerobic capacity of water polo players (~ 20 masculine players with age between 16 a 18 years), these measured by specific tests ( skill repeated efforts test and 30s jumping under goal maximal test) semi-specific (tethered swimming, 30s maximal test, All-Out 3-min maximal test and maximal incremental test) for this sport and tracking of activities ( swimming velocity, jumps, high intensity events and others) by filming of a simulated game, applied before a after the period of supplementation (AU)
