Abstract

This research project considers the theoretical analysis and computational implementation of two meta-heuristics applied to the AC model in transmission network expansion planning problem. The proposal is to develop a specialized genetic algorithm and a scatter search algorithm using the AC model. For this type of problem, the mathematical model is a mixed non-linear integer programming problem with highly complex. In addition, to solve the sub-problems related to each investment proposal that the meta-heuristic generates, it is fundamental develop or modify an efficient algorithm to solve conventional AC load flow problems or nonlinear programming problems. With those meta-heuristics implemented, we intend to test large systems and high complexity. (AU)
