Abstract

This project aims to investigate theoretical elements related to the foundations of the so-called sociology of individuals, in order to understand the complex relations between cultural-historical structures and individual experiences. The main purpose is to identify and analyze the recent academic literature on the study of the sociology of singularization, seeking to learn in greater depth the theoretical orientations, issues and modalities of research undertaken by contemporary scholars sensitive to the issues of singularization, identity, socialization and to their relations with the education field. I expect the development of the project to allow attaining two different but interrelated goals. The first one is to establish dialogue between research being developed in the areas of sociology of education and psychology of education, especially between the theses of the sociology of individuals and the historical-cultural psychology (advocated by by L. S. Vygotsky). This goal will be achieved through the identification of tenuous boundaries and intersections between different theoretical formulations. The second goal, on the other hand, is to provide an overview of current issues and epistemological and methodological approaches developed in Europe, especially in France, with regard to my field of interest. Therefore, this project will be a unique opportunity to further explore the issues I research, related to the problem of the constitution of subjectivity and its relations with culture, educational practices, memory and autobiographical narratives.
