Abstract

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) originates from South America, and was widely disseminated by the world, probably because of its pleasant taste. It is a plant, oleaginous plant, herbaceous annual, branched, belonging to the family Fabaceae. The highlight of culture is its use as an alternative in crop rotation system in areas of sugarcane plantations at the time of the reform, on the basis that, in Brazil, the main State peanut farmer is Sao Paulo, whose production has been growing in recent years. The application of the concept of efficiency of agricultural production to the culture of peanut can substantiate strategic analysis about trajectories of future costs and prices of their products, cost and benefit for its use in rotation on sugar reform, competition with other cultures of rotation by use of soil, and the projection of future agricultural scenarios for the Brazilian peanut, seeking to anticipate how changes mai.
