Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of ²-tricalcium phosphate in the repair process of peri-implant defects in the tibia of rabbits by Immunohistochemistry analysis. Fifteen rabbits received one in each tibia osteotomy through trephine 6.1 mm in diameter. Then we used the spear and helical cutters in the preparation of receptors beds and 1 implant was installed. Bone defects were filled according to the groups: I - blood clot; II - ²-tricalcium phosphate (Cerasorb®). The animals were euthanized at 15, 30 and 60 days postoperatively. In a previous project was carried out immediately after euthanasia, the biomechanical analysis. Then the specimens were submitted to routine processing and held histological analysis. Due to the results found in the above analysis, justified the need for the immunohistochemical analysis for the expression of osteoprotegerin protein (OPG), ligand activator of nuclear factor receptor :B (RANK-L) and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase ( TRAP) to elucidate the Cerasorb® degradation process, which will make the work with great potential to be published in good impact journal. In addition to the proteins of the expression will be held the reason RANK-L: OPG to assess the tendency to inhibition or stimulation of osteoclast formation. The evaluation of results will be performed using the statistical test analysis of variance, adopting the significance level of 5%.
