Abstract

The knowledge, processes, practices and tools concerning the quality design in the Built Environment have a prominent academic and scientific development. This recognized success linked to the simulation methodology and performance evaluation, identification customer requirements, continuous improvement models, quality management and incremental innovation, however, has no equivalent maturity with respect to the organizational conditions for the applicability in the Design Process. Integrate this knowledge to Design Process gives subsidies to direct the process and evaluate the quality of the project; however this integration depends on organizational conditions that allow the flow of information needed and align interests between the main stakeholders involved in the Built Environment Lifecycle. Therefore,, the discussion of the potential challenges and to incorporate these tooling, practices and processes related to knowledge that impact the quality of the Environment project construction depend on a strategic approach to these organizational conditions, considering necessary skills, motivation for adoption and possible barriers to be overcome.
