Abstract

The reverse transfer of knowledge can provide competitive advantage to the organization as a whole, but the organizational context and environmental factors can affect the process. This research studies the influence of the institutional environment in the process of reverse transfer of knowledge in Brazilian multinational companies. For that are used both international studies that have addressed the reverse transfer of knowledge and studies that addressed the institutional environment and developed a range of institutional dimensions distance between countries. A survey will be applied to Brazilian multinationals on the list compiled in 2010 by the project GINEBRA (Brazilian International Business Management), which contains Brazilian companies with value-added activities abroad. It is believed that this research will contribute to the literature of international business strategy in emerging countries and possibly for the management of Brazilian subsidiaries of multinational companies.
