Abstract

Nowadays, there is a lot of demand for new electric energy sources, particularly energy renewable ones. Due to geographical characteristics, Brazil has a huge potential for the utilization of wind energy. This kind of energy has been used by various countries in the world. The growth of using wind energy demands several studies, as well as professionals able to solve problems that arise during project and analysis wind turbines. The aim of this research project will be the dynamics of the tower of a horizontal axis wind turbine and the analysis of vibration passive suppressor (pendulum-like) this component of wind energy. The equations of motion will be derived for the reduced-order model for the tower-pendulum system. The equations of motion will be numerically integrated. The performance of the suppressor will be assessed and analyzed in different scenarios.
