Abstract

Nowadays, there is a lot of demand for new electric energy sources, particularly energy renewable ones. Due to geographical characteristics, the Brazil has a huge potential to the utilization of wind energy. This kind of energy has been used by various countries of the world. The growth of using wind energy demands several studies, as well as professionals able to solve problems that arise during project and analysis wind turbine. The aim of this research project will be dynamics of the tower of a horizontal axis wind turbine and the analysis of vibration passive suppressor (pendulum like) this component of wind energy. The equations of motion will be derived for the reduced-order model for the tower-pendulum system. The equations of motion will be numerically integrated. The performance of suppressor will be assessed and analysed in different scenarios.
