Abstract

The natural rubber (BN) is present in more than 2,500 plant species, being Hevea brasiliensis the most exploited commercially. It's a raw material of great importance for the Brazilian economy, but the country faces a deficit in production, having to import about 60% of its consumption. Taking into consideration its importance at the market and that the world production in a few years has prospects to be below then the consumption, appears the need to search clonal varieties of rubber adapted to different areas. Aimed at increasing of the quality rubber and the national production, Embrapa Instrumentation in partnership with the Agronomy Institute (IAC) has been developing projects for the genetic improvement with the obtainment of new rubber clones adapted to different regions through of Agronomic evaluation, and technological properties, physical-chemical and thermal rubber produced by new clones. Faced with this scenario, this work search chemically characterize the new clones RRIM 711, RRIM 926, RRIM 937 OE RRIM 600 (Witness) and to study the influence of the chemical composition in the properties of these materials, aiming greater understanding of the relationship structure/property, and also to contribute with the rubber breeding program and recommendation to the planting of new clones. The samples will be characterized through the trials of: dry rubber content and total solids in the latex, particles size distribution and Zeta potential, spectroscopy in the infrared region, nuclear magnetic resonance, elemental analysis for determination of macro and micro nutrients by optical emission spectrometry with inductively plasma coupled, determination of lipid profile for chromatography, content of acetone extract, ash content, nitrogen content, determination of protein by electrophoresis. Also it will be done Wallace plasticity tests, plasticity retention index, Mooney viscosity, thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry and rheological behavior to evaluate the influence of chemical composition on the properties of the clones studied using analysis of variance method (ANOVA) and the Duncan test.
