Abstract

The main goal of this research is focused on Audiovisual Translation Studies specifically on two resources that are used with accessibility function to audiovisual products: audio description and subtitling for deaf and hearing impaired people. The researcher has the objective to apply the results of her project to Undergraduate Courses in Brazil, mainly Radio and TV Undergraduate Course at Universidade Estadual Paulista (campus Bauru) so she will also study Accessible Filmmaking process.There will be two main steps during the research. At first a bibliographical investigation will be developed about audio description and subtitling for deaf and hearing impaired people applied to television and movie making fields since the researcher has been teaching in both areas.Recent publications on Audiovisual Translation will be studied as well as technological innovations available at the Department of Translation and Interpretation of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (audio description and subtitling for deaf and hearing impaired people softwares).Secondly our investigation will be focused on Accessible Filmmaking, area that joins accessibility resources to techniques of script production. This research is considered unprecedented in Brazilian academia and the researcher will be able to apply the results at her University and the premises of thinking the accessibility at the pre conception of audiovisual products.
