Abstract These project was based in the hypothesis that the Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis could alters the microRNAs (miRNA) profile of infected macrophages and consequently the expression of mRNAs involved in the polyamines and nitric oxide production. Previously results point for modulation of miRNAs/mRNAs involved in the L-arginine metabolism to produce polyamines, essentials for parasite survival, in opposite effect of the NO production, to kill parasite. Indeed, the modulation of miRNAS expression from infected macrophage, that are involved a post-transcriptional regulation of nitric oxide synthase 2 (NOS2), could collaborate for parasite survival and replication into macrophages, subverting the immune response.Actually, the miRNAs expression during infections by bacteria and virus, as well cancer cells, is extensively studied. However, recently the miRNAs profile of macrophages infected by Leishmania was studied for some groups. Herein, the central objective is analysis the microRNAs/mRNAs profile of murine macrophages wild type (C57BL/6, WT) and knockout of NOS2 (NOS2-/-) infected by L. (L.) amazonensis and its implications in the L-arginine metabolism for polyamines or NO production from host or parasite to establish the infection. | |
