Abstract

The noise, the distance and the reverberation can harm the perception of the speech sound by hearing impaired students in the classroom. The frequency modular system (FMS) is a technology feature that supports the perception of the speech sound in noise. The ordinance Nº 1.274, of June 25th, 2013 determines the Brazilian Public Care System to offer the frequency modular system to the hearing impaired students following the criterionns determined in this document. The object will be to describe the Speech Recognition Index (SRI), application the frequency modular system in the classroom and the characteristics the oral language of hearing impaired students. This research has characteristics of transversal approach. A full audiology evaluation and the functional gain with the device used by the hearing impaired students, cochlear implant or hearing aid will be realized. The protocols will be used: Classroom Participation Questionnaire (CPQ), Listening Inventory for Education - Revised (LIFE-R), Screening Instrument for Targeting Educational Risk in Secondary Students (S.I.F.T.E.R.) and Meaningful Use of Speech Scales (MUSS) adapted to the Oral Language Evaluation.
