Abstract

A hearing-impaired (HI) student may have special educational needs. Due to the inclusion of public policies in the areas of education and health and technological advances, there is a possibility of using spoken language at school to a group of these students. Hearing accessibility resources at the school environment is important and they will be part of a series of decisions for the development of the hearing-impaired students, but this is not the only factor to be considered in the classroom. Since the teacher has an important role in the development of these students and teacher formation does not enable them to work with hearing-impaired students, it is relevant to the partnership between the areas of health and education. This study aims to accompany the hearing impaired student user of hearing aid or cochlear implant through the teacher's perspective. It will participate in this study two groups of teachers who teach in the second half of the year 2016 and the first half of the year 2017. The questionnaires will be applied: on the knowledge and experience of teachers (DELGADO-PINHEIRO, 2003), monthly monitoring of students, and an analytical tool of the viability of the monthly follow-up questionnaire. A descriptive statistical analysis will be used. The research results will contribute to the elaboration of strategies that enhance the partnership between the health and education areas and teacher performance with such students.
