Abstract

Surface tension is a property of interest in fatty systems, it is necessary for the understanding of the thermodynamic processes involving contact stages. This research project aims to obtain surface tension data of model systems containing fatty compounds (triglycerides, fatty acids, methyl esters and partial glycerides) and alcohol or hexane solvents, besides adjusting the data to a predictive model this property. This work falls within the Doctoral Project "PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF INTEREST SYSTEMS FOR OILS INDUSTRY AND BIODIESEL PRODUCTION: DETERMINATION OF EXPERIMENTAL DATA, MODELING AND PREDICTION", funded by FAPESP (Process No. 2014 / 09757-0) whose beneficiary is the doctoral student Priscila Missano Florido, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Cintia Bernardo Gonçalves (FZEA-USP), coordinator of the Research Grants No. 2012 / 23203-1, also associated with this research.
