Abstract

Structural elements of construction requires properties that support the requests imposed to the material and provide a long life, in this aspect it is required treatment of panels so that there is no deterioration in a short period of time, to perform a treatment it is used chemicals that are toxic to humans thus emerged other method for the preservation of these materials, called thermal treatment, which the wood is exposed to high temperatures reducing the incidence of fungi attack and decreasing water absorption. OSB are used in construction, especially in situations that require greater physical and mechanical resistance, the proposal of this work is to produce OSB panels with pine wood using phenol-formaldehyde resin, varying temperatures used in thermal treatment procedure. The study includes evaluating the occurrence of change in physical and mechanical properties of the panels, using as reference panels produced without thermal treatment and commercial OSB values for analysis of the results. For the physical and mechanical characterization it will be used the specifications of the normative documents EN 323/2000, EN 317/2000, EN 310/2000, EN 319/2000.
