Evaluation of the effects of low intensity laser in implant osseointegration with different surfaces: frequency by resonance and biomechanics analysis

Abstract

The low-power laser has been widely used to speed stages of the repair process interface formed between bone and implant. The proposition of this study will be to evaluate the effects of low intensity laser in process osseointegration of implants with machined surface (SU) and blasted by Al2O3 followed in conditioning acid (SA), installed in tibias of rabbits using the resonance frequency analysis and removal torque of implants. To this, 20 Albino rabbits will receive 40 implants (Ti4Al6V) of 4x10mm in surgical beds milled in the medial portion of the right and left tibias, being an implant of each surface at each tibia distributed randomly. Thus, the animals will be randomly divided into two groups: Group I - animals that will not receive the application of low intensity laser and Group II - animals that will receive the application of low intensity laser. After installation of each implant will measured their stability coefficient by means of resonance frequency analysis. In periods of 21 and 42 days the animals will be anesthetized, and in vivo will measured again the coefficient of stability of the implant, followed by the biomechanical analysis by means of the removal torque measures. The values obtained will be submitted to analysis of variance and t test Tukey.
