Abstract

The Center for Urban Science+Progress - CUSP - is a world leader research center for urban data analysis. The administrative structure of CUSP, which gathers agents from the academy, government, and private sector, has been a modelfor several other centers around the world. Moreover, the cutting-edge technology used and developed at CUSP has positively impacted in the planning and deployment of public policy. This project aims at creating an opportunity for Prof. Nonato to experience, interact, and get knowledge about urban data sciences at CUSP, having as main goal to stablish a similar center in Brazil in midterm. Besides providing a unique opportunity to experience the dynamic of CUSP and witness the most recent achievements in the context of urban data analysis, the one year stage at CUSP, more specificallyin the group led by Prof. Claudio Silva, will also provide the conditions to further extend and improve the mathematical and computational toolsdevelop by Prof. Nonato's group to the context of urban data visual analysis.More precisely, this project focuses on further develop graph signal processing and tensor decomposition theories to assist urban data visualization applications. The opportunity of combining the achievements herein proposed with the expertise of Prof. Silva's group in terms of urban data visualization will, no doubt, gives rise to innovative products with great impact in the visual analysis of urban data.
