Abstract

The objective of this project is to develop new visual metaphors to explore the evolution of patterns in time-varying data using graph wavelets theory. Initial results from doctoral project have demonstrated the potential of graph wavelets (Valdivia, 2015) as a tool to assist visual analytics applications focused on the detection of variations and patterns on data. During the internship we will further explore graph wavelet theory towards developing innovative visual analytics tools able to uncover patterns and anomalies hidden in time-varying data. For this purpose, we will work in collaboration with researchers from the AVIZ INRIA research team at University Paris-Sud, under the supervision of Professor Jean-Daniel Fekete.
