Abstract

Asthma is a complex disease that treatment can lead to physical, emotional and sociallimitations. For its control, active participation of the patient and their families is needed, inaddition to adequate pharmacological treatment. Patient adherence is essential in this process;to occur it is necessary that the bearer has notions about the disease, its triggers and how toavoid them. Patient education is a cornerstone of asthma treatment according to internationalguidelines and is considered essential for adherence to treatment. This work will beundertaken to evaluate the functional parameters and inflammatory activity in asthmaticpatients undergoing an educational intervention. A study of 40 asthmatics with partlycontrolled and uncontrolled disease will be held. All patients will undergo measurement ofspirometry and induced sputum.
