Abstract

The hydrogel matrix (or scaffold) is a biomaterial that has various clinical applications, including its properties to promote cell proliferation and tissue regeneration. However, the combination of herbal substances to these scaffolds can further enhance its biological capacity for regeneration in Dentistry. Thus, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the biocompatibility of a hydrogel scaffold associated with the barbatimão extract (Stryphnodendron barbatiman). For the biocompatibility tests, cells will be used in the dental pulp (FP6). In the assessment of cytotoxicity, the MTT assay will be performed to verify the cellular metabolic activity and genotoxicity test should be performed by the micronucleus test that shows genetic alterations in cells. Statistical analysis will be performed by statistical tests ANOVA and Tukey, with the significance level (5%).
