Abstract

Antimicrobials are the second most used drug class, being responsible for 20 to 50% of hospital expenses. However, the extensive and often inappropriate use of antibiotics, bad hygiene conditions, continuous flow of travelers, the increase of immunocompromised patients and the delay to diagnosis bacterial infections have favored the increased resistance, a public health problem that must be addressed in many ways. This papper has as objective to draw a profile of resistance of Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp. and Klebsiella spp. bacterias isolated in dogs in relation to antibiotics in everyday use. For this purpose, will be isolated 20 samples of Klebsiella spp., 60 samples of Staphylococcus spp. and 60 samples of Streptococcus spp., and 25, 28 and 23 antibiotics respectively will be tested in each sample. Each sample will have held their antimicrobial reading watching his inhibiting overall diameter or radius in mm, and this will be compared to the profile properly described in sensitivity tables, being this organism characterized than as sensitive, intermediate or resistant to those antibiotics.
