Abstract Introduction: This clinical study will be conducted to compare the effectiveness of two rotary systems Hyflex CM (Coltene-Whaledent, Allstetten, Switzerland) and Protaper Next (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) in removing endotoxins and cultivable bacteria from primarily infected root canals. Methods: Twenty-four primarily infected root canals of maxillary molars will be selected patients seeking for endodontic treatment and randomly divided into 2 groups: Hyflex CM (Coltene-Whaledent,) (n = 12); and protaper Next (Dentsply Maillefer) (n = 12). Samples will be collected will sterile apyrogenic paper points before and after chemomechanical preparation of the mesio-buccal canal and inoculated in specific vials according to the analysis to be performed - endotoxin or microbiological test. The irrigation will be performed by using 2.5% sodium hypochlorite. A chromogenic limulus amebocyte lysate assay test will be used to quantify endotoxins. Culture techniques will used to determine bacterial colony-forming unit counts. Colected data from CFU and endotoxin concentration will be statistically analysed using SPSS for Windows (SPSS Inc, Chicago, IL). Significance level will be 5% (P <0.05). | |
