Abstract

This project aimed to evaluate the effect of probiotic, composed by Bacillus subtilis and Lactobacillus plantarum (Biogenic -AQUA-PHOTO) in Nile tilapia fry during sex reversion phase, submitted to stress condition caused by high stocking density. The experiment was conducted in Aquatic Organism Pathology Laboratory, belonged to Fisheries Institute of São Paulo. The experiment design was completely randomized with four treatments and five replicates. All groups received commercial diet containing 17-±-methyltestosterone. The treatments were: 1-) addition of probiotic in diet, 2-) probiotic addition in aquarium water, 3-) addition of probiotic in diet and aquarium water 4-) control. The following parameters were evaluated: quantitative and qualitative microbiology presented in intestinal microbiota of post-larvae; weight gain, condition factor, specific growth rate, total length and survival. The gene expression of fish related to TNF- ± (immunity) and HSP-70 (stress) genes will be done in Microbiology Laboratory, Malaga University (UMA) - Spain. The data will be submitted to variance analysis (ANOVA) and means will be compared by Tukey Test (p<0.05). (AU)
