Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate, longitudinally, the influence of dietary patterns on the risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD) in adolescents. This is a study that will use longitudinal study data LONCAAFS developed with students, of both sexes, the elementary school of public schools in João Pessoa-PB. In this study, dietary data collection method is the 24-hour recall, doubled in 40% of the sample; to assess the nutritional status are used the body mass, height and waist circumference, and for physical activity, accelerometry data. It held a blood once a year during the period for the study (2014-2017), to dose serum concentrations of C-reactive protein (CRP), total cholesterol, high density lipoproteins (HDL-C) and low density (LDL-c), glucose and plasma triglycerides. In this project will be used data collected in 2014, 2015 and 2016 the research questions will be investigated: (1) how to change eating patterns over time, comparing the first, second and third waves ?; and (2) as feeding patterns and the changes observed impact on risk factors for cardiovascular disease? The dietary pattern "a posteriori", will be estimated by exploratory factor analysis main component in the first wave, and will be analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis (structural equation modeling) in the second and third waves and associations of interest through mixed models regression. The results of this study will be useful for a better understanding of the evolution of dietary patterns and their relationship with risk factors for CVD in adolescence, so that they can be adopted measures to control these morbidities and consequently assist in reducing future cardiovascular problems in the population.Key - words: food standard; adolescents; cardiovascular diseases; risk factors. | |
