Abstract One of today's global problems is management of Electric Power. Wind and solar systems disconnected from the network (off-grid), electric vehicles, hospital equipment (defibrillators), portable technological devices and many others are waiting for better development and the subsequent lower cost of clean storage and supply of energy systems. Rechargeable batteries have brought a revolution in urban mobility and communication, but are still insufficient, because they take a long period of time to load and can explode if overboost. So, the question is very important and its solution will serve a broad market with large potential gain. Focus on that, this project proposes the development of a prototype of a powerful storer and energy supplier. In order to reduce the charging time, our device is a hybrid between supercapacitor and battery pack. Rechargeable batteries operate by Faradáico processes and have higher storage capacity, however, are limited by the time of their chemical reactions, inherent to its functioning redox process. Due to this problem, supercapacitors are ideal to complement the batteries when you want to perform fast storage processes and supply of energy because it works through Stern layer process not Faradáico at the electrode / electrolyte interface. This process is immediate and non-destructive, allowing the device has a long life. In addition, the capacitance and the stored energy is directly proportional to their electrochemically active area, which justifies be constructed from porous nanomaterials. In order to precisely obtain the advantages of both technologies we develop porous materials in this work and vertically aligned carbon nanotubes, and graphene diamonds. Such materials are deposited onto aluminum foil and serve as electrodes for the device. Extensively studied are the carbon hybridizations, the formation of defects in the walls, the surface functionalization techniques for Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform, X-ray techniques and transmission, scanning and atomic force microscopies. In the study the material, the concept study considering the cell thickness of the films, mesoporous membrane type, type of electrolyte and pseudocapacitive type of component to be considered. In the latter case will be studied how to match the times between the faradaic and non-faradaic processes and how to produce sandwich device supercapacitor/battery. The first prototypes will be assembled in coin cell before its expansion on a larger scale device, which is the commitment of this project. (AU) | |
