Influence of laminate veneers cemented on non-prep teeth in the quantification of the interleukin-6 and growth-B transformation factor biomarkers present in the crevicular gingival fluid

Objective: To quantify the presence of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and TGF-B transformation factor in the crevicular gingival fluid of the natural teeth submitted to aesthetic treatment with very thin laminate veneers, without finish line and cervical margin placed within the gingival sulcus. Materials and Methods: 72 lithium disilicate laminate veneers, 0.2 mm thick at the cervical area, will be cemented onto unprepared maxillary anterior teeth. For all the treated elements, the crevicular gingival fluid (GCF) will be collected prior to restoration cementation (baseline) and at times (t): t0 - 7 days, t1 - 15 days, t2 - 30 days, t3 - 60 days and t4 - 180 days after restoration cementation, where the GCF volume will be calculated and the follow biomarkers quantified by ELISA: IL-6, TGF-² and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). The PGE2 and the neighboring teeth to the treated teeth will be used as control. Results: After the descriptive analysis of the data, the assumptions of normality and homogeneity will be verified, considering the application of ANOVA. If the assumptions are not met, the use of the Kruskall-Wallis test is foreseen. The significance level considered for difference between averages will be 5%. (AU)
