Abstract

This project aims to carry out various activities at IRET - Institut de Recherche en Etudes Théâtrales (Research Institute for Theater Studies), Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 (France), under the guidance of Professor Joseph Danan. In attending the activities of one of the major centers of reference in the production of studies on the theory of modern and contemporary drama, the general objective of this stage is to consolidate a good theoretical framework so that I can undertake the analysis of some Carlos Alberto Soffredini plays, proposed in the research project that I develop in the my country. In this sense, from the study and understanding of the theory of modern and contemporary drama developed by Professor Jean-Pièrre Sarrazac, founder of IRET, and also drawing on the thought of the Brazilian theatrical critic Antônio de Alcântara Machado, I intend to defend the thesis that Soffredini's work is characterized by a rhapsodic mess. Theoretical studies on drama in Brazil are still quite restricted, unlike what happens with critical and analytical studies. Research on text-scene relations is also part of a very recent movement in the country, with still rare results. The trip, therefore, becomes fundamental for the good progress of the project, as already attested in the initial project. Other actions are proposed in this project, such as the translation of an article by Machado and an article by Soffredini for the French language, mainly aimed at the dissemination of the work of these Brazilians with the teachers and colleagues of IRET. In addition, I will write analytical articles on these two articles that will be translated and also an article summarizing and defending the idea of the rhapsodic mess.
